Kevin Brawley is an educator, children’s choir director, and public speaker with over 20 years experience as a national recording and touring artist. In 2019, he was named one of 30 National Music Teachers of Excellence by the CMA Foundation. He created “Studio Time with Mr. B” as a way to share the exciting things happening in his classroom to inspire students and other teachers, alike. He prides himself on having an inclusive and positive learning environment for all of his students – especially those with disabilities. His energetic and unorthodox teaching style is focused on student engagement and a willingness to search for unexpected teaching moments. Assembly Performance: Studio Time ELA with Mr. B The most fun and unpredictable way to combine ELA, music, movement and technology! Students will learn about and use professional level recording equipment to create an original song using words and characters from their school, as well as create their own movements for the song. EVERY student participates in the song creation, rehearsal, and performance within a 50 minute session. All students will receive an audio recording and an accompanying lyric video of their performance upon completion that can be listened to or watched for test review, during brain breaks, or at home. Grade Levels K-5 Maximums 400 Students, 45-50 minutes, 4/day Technical Requirements I will provide all audio/visual equipment. Parking for one SUV and small trailer as close to performance area as possible. 60 minutes set up time and 45 minutes strike time.
