Crystal is known in the community as "the financial literacy advocate"! She is an alumnus of Fayetteville State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance. Crystal has worked in the financial industry for over 10 years. She is a proud supporter of her community and is involved in numerous volunteer and charitable organizations. Crystal is the author of 2 International Best-Selling Financial Literacy Children’s Books. Crystal’s role as a Financial Literacy Advocate is to partner with families, and organizations to teach children the powerful concept of healthy money habits. She has taught virtually and physically to over 40+ schools and organizations.

  • Assembly Performance: Author Reading Assembly

    Crystal McLean, the author of the program, incorporates both literary arts and visual arts to delve into the subject of financial literacy. The program utilizes storytelling as a means of engaging children and guiding them on a journey of exploration and learning. Crystal aims to assist children in identifying various elements such as characters, objects, people, places, and things within the context of financial literacy. Additionally, the program incorporates guided art projects, employing visual arts as another avenue for teaching.

    Duration: 45-50 minutes

    Grade Level: Pre-K, Elementary School

  • In-School Workshop: The Money Box Workshop

    The Money Box Workshop is an engaging program designed to educate students about healthy money habits through teaching and action. A key element of The Money Box Workshop is the hands-on activity where each student gets the opportunity to create their own personal money box. This activity serves as a practical application of the lessons learned and allows students to immediately implement what they have just been taught. The money box becomes a tangible tool for them to use in their daily lives and serves as a point of reference for creating better and stronger healthy money habits.

    Duration: 60 minutes

    Grade Level: Pre-K, Elementary School, Middle School, High School

    Maximum Number of Students: 75-100

    Maximum Number of Performances: 3

  • Virtual Engagement: Virtual Storytelling

    Crystal McLean's program intertwines literary arts and visual arts to teach financial literacy. Through author readings and guided art projects, children are provided with opportunities to identify elements within stories and engage in creative thinking about their future financial well-being.
