ICONS by JaLisa McCullough

JaLisa McCullough didn't know what to expect from her first-ever solo exhibit, ICONS.

"Are people even going to appreciate this as a medium?" McCullough wondered in the days leading up to the opening reception.

The answer was a resounding yes.

Nine of the twelve embossed digital prints on display sold within two hours of the exhibit's opening.

JaLisa was inspired to create theme of ICONS from her love of the once popular [now defunct] Word Up! Magazine. "Why not have these things in your home showing the people that you love, the music that you love, the sports figures that you love?" explained McCullough.

ICONS will be on display through February 16th in the Local Artist Spotlight Gallery.

JaLisa's work was selected to exhibit as part of our Local Artist Spotlight Gallery program, which highlights artists in the community with a body of work to share.

Our next Local Artist Spotlight Gallery exhibit will be Embodied by Bobbe Garcia.
